The guys from G-Power are known for their outrageously powerful tuning kits which usually drastically change the setup under your car’s hood. They are the ones who launched a bi-supercharged setup for the Hurricane RR model, an 800 HP beast based on the BMW E61 M5 Touring a while back. Well, they didn’t forget about the E9x generation BMW M3 models either and they recently announced a new kit for the S65 engine, taking it to no less than 720 HP.
With this sort of power you’d be able to challenge virtually any car on the road to a drag race as long as you don’t botch the launch. But how is all this possible? The German tuner claims that in order to get to such outrageous levels of grunt, you’d need their SK III RR kit which will set you back €39,950. For the money you’ll be getting an ASA T1-724 supercharger, supercharger centrifugal clutch K07, a new intake, new motorsport cold spark plugs, 8 injectors with increased flow-rate, 8 weight-optimized forged pistons, 8 balanced and weight-optimized connecting rods, a forged crankshaft and an increase in displacement to 4.5 liters.
Of course, alongside all these mechanical changes, the guys from G-Power will also remap the ECU while changing the fuel pump system to make sure you don’t run out of juice. The top speed limited will of course be removed, allowing you to reach up to 200 mph (320 km/h) in the process. If all of this seems like it’s a bit much, all the other choices G-Power used to have in stock are still available for E9x models.
From the SK I package which offers 520 hp and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) starting at €5,999 to SK II with 600 HP and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque, the SK II CS with 630 HP and 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) of torque to the SK III RS rated at 680 HP and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque for €24,999 there are plenty of choices for those who still love the V8 sound of the M3 and aren’t all that eager to move to the new M4 and its straight six powerplant.
