Michael Hoey and Gary Hurley continued their run of good form in the D+D REAL Czech Challenge.
Hoey—who tied for 11th in the Rocco Forte Open - Verdura, Sicily—made an eagle and five birdies in a four-under 68 to trail Sweden's Oscar Lengden by four shots in a share of sixth.
The leader used a new putter to good effect as he fired the best European Challenge Tour round of his career, an eight-under-par 64, to lead by one from Frenchman Thomas Linard at Golf & Spa Kunětická Hora.
Hurley, who was 23rd in Sicily, shares 17th on three-under after a five-birdie 69 while Kevin Phelan and Cormac Sharvin are tied 27th after fine 70s.
Mount Wolseley's Gavin Moynihan is inside the cut line with a 71 but Mount Juliet's Stephen Grant, who was level after nine, took a triple bogey seven at his 12th hole and dropped three more coming in as he posted a 78.
