Ever since the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the big news in the car world has been the Bugatti Chiron. The French (or German, if we’re being real) automaker has finally developed a replacement for the famous Veyron, which was previously the fastest road-going production car ever made. The Chiron packs a quad-turbocharged W16 engine that develops over 1,500 hp and can get from 0-60 mph in just 2.6 seconds. It also has a top speed of 261 mph. But, in case that isn’t enough for Bugatti Chiron buyers (which, for them, is anything really ever enough?), Bugatti is also offering them a bicycle.
That’s right, there will be a Bugatti bicycle, developed in joint by German bike company, PG. In case you were wondering, PG stands for “Pimp Garage” which sounds like the place Guy Fieri buys his clothing. This bicycle is developed entirely from carbon fiber and only weighs 11 lbs. That means the entire bicycle weighs less than a medium-sized raccoon. But that’s not the best part. The best part is the price, which starts at $48,000. That’s right, it’s almost $50k for a damn bicycle.
But that’s just what the Bugatti bike starts out. It can get up to $86,000 with options. What kind of flipping options can cost that much money for a bike? Apparently, there are fancy handle grips and seat covers made out of unobtainium and unicorn tusk.
For comparison’s sake, the brand-new BMW M2, a luxurious four-door car that comes with a 365 hp turbocharged engine, seating for four and a full-sized trunk and only costs $52,500. And, I don’t know if you’ve ever sat in an M2, but it’s no cow shed. It’s pretty nice in there. Sounds like a damn bargain now, doesn’t it? So, for the price of a brand-new BMW M2, a superb all-around vehicle, you can just barely buy a Bugatti bicycle. Sounds about right.
