Video of apparent reckless driving posted on social media led to a New York City man’s arrest on Long Island. The incident happened Sunday, June 12, about 11:30 a.m. on the Long Island Expressway in Woodbury. The alleged reckless driving was captured on video and caught the attention of the local police.

The investigation led detectives to Darren A., 23, of the Bronx, who was arrested Monday. “Take it down before I get in trouble,” 23-year-old Darran A. reportedly commented on a video of him in his BMW cutting through traffic on New York’s Long Island Expressway.

He was in the car in front of the car where the video was recorded, and now police is searching for the second driver.

Police estimate the cars were going about 100 mph.

One BMW, a 2009, appears to be an M3 and was impounded after the driver boasted about it on Facebook, is his mother’s car.  The drivers thankfully did not hit anyone but could face one year in jail.
