The G01 BMW X3 will begin its production cycle in August 2017 and will arrive at dealers late that year and early 2018. When it arrives in 2017, the G01 BMW X3 will bring an updated design language which will eventually be implemented in other BMW models as well.

The new G01 X3 will be based on the CLAR modular architecture and it’s supposed to drop around 100 kg (221 lbs) of weight off its hips, thanks to vast usage of aluminum and CFRP.

Along with a new exterior design and a more premium cabin, high-tech and safety features, and advanced telematics, are poised to make the G01 X3 another big seller for the Bavarians.

The rendering shown here shows a rather evolutionary design of the X3, with the front fascia inspired by the new BMW 7 Series. The G01 X3 will maintain its compact proportions and stocky look, which will clearly differentiate it from the rest of X family. Our sources say the front design was adjusted due to the new pedestrian safety regulations and now sits a little straighter than before. The rear quarter features a slightly lower roofline than the current model and a one-piece tailgate.

For the first time, BMW will offer an extended wheelbase for the X3, likely catering to markets like China.
