In the vapid world of the Kardashians and their reality tv series of shows, each of the family members own, or borrow, a fleet of luxury and performance cars. Scott Disick, the ex-boyfriend of Kourtney Kardashian, was recently seen driving a brand-new BMW i8.
Disick’s Protonic Blue BMW i8 is just the latest in his collection of high-performance luxury cars but it’s probably the most eco-friendly of his cars. Living in California, it’s almost necessary to own some sort of hybrid of electric car, so as to give off an image of environmentally friendliness. Admittedly, the Ferraris and Rolls Royces Disick drives regularly completely negate the eco-friendliness of his new i8, but at least he’s doing his part…
Admittedly, the BMW i8 might not be his. Disick, like many of the other Kardashians and celebrities of the like, get loaner cars to drive around in. In fact, many of the cars you see celebrities driving aren’t actually theirs. But it could be his and if it is, he has better taste in cars than jeans, because he was unable to get out of the i8 gracefully, as his incredibly tight jeans limited his mobility from such a low vehicle. I’m all for stylish jeans, and no one’s worn baggy jeans since the ’90s, but those are a bit much.
Disick is only one of the celebrities to be buying into the BMW i8’s fantastic blend of styling, performance and economy. We’ve previously spotted famous James Bond actor, Pierce Brosnan, as well as “Big Bang Theory” star Kunal Nayyar driving BMW i8s. In fact, Nayyar was mocked for driving the i8 by his cast-mates on the Conan O’Brian show, as its massive doors cause him to park it awkwardly, taking up extra spots for other cast members.
The BMW i8 uses a 1.5 liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, paired with two electric motors, to drive all four wheels and develops 357 combined hp. This allows it to be capable of 0-60 mph in around 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. It’s also build almost entirely of carbon fiber and aluminum, making it incredibly light. So the BMW i8 is one of the best all-around high-performance cars on the market and its sci-fi styling make it popular with celebrities in the limelight.
