2017 BMW 230i and M240i Models Priced the Same as Predecessors

BMW-M240i-2

This summer the BMW 228i models will be replaced by the new 2017 BMW 230i versions, in both Coupe and Convertible guises. This will, of course, bring about an increase in power output and, as most of you probably expected, an increase in pricing. However, that’s not going to happen as the pricing for the 230i models will remain the same as it was for the 228i.

To be more precise, the starting price tag (without the shipping and handling fee of $995) for the 230i Coupe model will be $32,850 while for the Convertible you’ll have to pay at least $38,650. Furthermore, standard features now include more kit while the power output also went up by 8 horsepower from 240 HP to 248 HP thanks to the new B46 engine.

As for the performance figures, the new 230i Coupe is just as fast as the old 228i, the acceleration to 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill taking 5.8 seconds when fitted with the standard 6-speed manual gearbox. The 8-speed automatic choice is faster by 0.2 seconds, rated at 5.6 seconds. For the Convertible choices the numbers remained the same too at 6.1 and 6 seconds flat.

The same pricing strategy will be applied to the M Performance models as well. The new M240i Coupe will have a starting price identical to the one of its predecessor, the M235i, prices kicking off at $44,150 without the $995 shipping and handling fee. That will get you the new B58 engine under the hood, good for 340 HP and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque and an identical sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph). In xDrive guise the acceleration figure stands at 4.4 seconds flat but you’ll have to pay $2,000 more for all-wheel drive.

Standard features inside the 230i include Sport leather steering wheel, 17″ light alloy wheels Star-spoke style 379 with all-Season tires, Sport seats, automatic climate control, Hi-Fi sound system, Hands-free Bluetooth and USB audio connection just to name a few. Inside the M240i you’ll find standard features such as  M Sport brakes ,Adaptive M suspension, Comfort Access keyless entry, moonroof, power front seats, aluminum hexagon trims with Estoril Blue matte highlights, Ambient Lighting, M steering wheel and Anthracite headliner.
