Niall Turner
Asian Tour — Niall Turner finished tied for 62nd behind India’s Khalin Joshi in the $400,000 Panasonic Open India at Delhi Golf Club.
The Muskerry player (35) made five birdies in an excellent third round 68 on Saturday to move up to tied 39th on two-under par.
But he got off to a poor start in the final round, going out in four-over 40 before dropping two more shots at the 13th as he carded a 78 and finished the week on four-over to pick up $1,160.
Turner, who won the 2014 Linc Group Jakarta Classic on the Asian Development Tour, was 116th in the Order of Merit after nine events.
Joshi, who was tied for the lead overnight with Bangladesh's Siddikur Rahman, birdied the last for a 68 to edge out Rahman and win his maiden title by one stroke on 17-under par and become the seventh Indian to win the Panasonic Open India in the last eight editions.
"I have no words,” Joshi said. “Huge monkey off my back. Last few holes were tricky for me. I am really relieved and happy to win.
“I made some poor decisions. Starting with two bogeys but I remained patient and it was rewarded.”
