Ireland beat England 4-1 to book their place in Saturday's final at the European Senior Men's Team Championship in Sweden but the Senior Women lost 4-1 to England and now face Germany for third place in Slovakia.

Following a 3 and 2 foursomes win for John Mitchell and Eamon Haugh further wins followed for Jim Carvill (6&5) and Adrian Morrow (5&4) to send Ireland into the final where they will seek their sixth title against Denmark, who beat Scotland 3.5-1.5 in the other semi final at PGA Sweden National near Malmo.

On course for a sixth European title, Morrow, Mitchell and Garth McGimpsey were all members of the last winning Irish team in 2015.
