Annabel Wilson scorched into a share of second place at halfway after a superb five under 67 in the second round of the World Junior Girls Championship in Canada.
The Lurgan star, 16, bogeyed the last but she was almost flawless for the other 17 holes, following a birdie at the second with a hat-trick of birdies from the ninth to move to four-under par.
The Irish international then added two more birdies at the 13th and 14th before her late bogey left her four shots off the pace on five-under-par at halfway
South Korea's Seo-yun Kwon followed her opening 65 with a 70 at the Marshes Golf Club in Ontario to lead on nine under par from a quintet of Europeans - Wilson, Hana Ryskova of the Czech Republic (71), Germany's Esther Henseleit (68), Italy's Alessia Nobilio (71) and the talented Swede Linn Grant (70).
Lauren Crowley Walsh is tied for 35th on five-over after a five-birdie 73 while an out-of-sorts Mairead Martin added an 81 to her opening 85 to share 59th.
