BMW M is hard at work preparing a new exciting model that aims to wow the enthusiasts community. The future BMW M2 CS or M2 Competition – as the final name has yet to be decided – will arrive in 2018 as one of the most fun M cars to drive today. Under the hood it will feature the 3.0-liter S55 petrol engine from the M3/M4 with a maximum power of 405 hp. The engine will certainly be mated to a 7-speed M-DCT transmission, with the six-speed manual still being a large unknown.
Recent news also point to a few special colors of the M2 CS. One of them is Silver Hockenheim, while the other is a flashier one – Sunset Orange. Inside, while the M2 is only available with one option, the M2 CS will enhance the look of the interior of the Dakota black leather upholstery with contrast stitching in Polar Blue or Kyalami Orange and the option of normal or perforated leather.
Brakes, wheels and suspension are all beefed up to cope with the CS’s extra performance, granted by an engine overhaul and added turbo boost.
Rumors also say that the M2 CS will be quite limited – one thousand units for the whole world, with a numbered plaque that grants the status of exclusive unit. Ordering starts in January 2018 , followed by first deliveries in May. Only selected BMW M dealers will have a unit in their showrooms, as it is a model on demand.
