The Rolls-Royce Dawn is the latest addition of the Goodwood-based company to its portfolio and a good looking one at that. However, even though it is a new model, it still shares a lot of its body with the Rolls-Royce Wraith and the Ghost.
As a matter of fact, all of them use the same platform but that’s not what we’re here for. We’re here to find out a different word for ‘Dawn’. Care to guess? How about ‘sunrise’? That may work, as the Rolls-Royce Wraith we have here is wearing a color that is supposed to replicate the sky just as the sun is rising.
The bespoke model was built for the Abu-Dhabi BMW dealership, the place where it was also named and where we’ve seen a lot of custom model being delivered lately. The one-tone exterior does match the interior to some degree and when you take into account the ‘stars’ on the roof lining, you can actually trick yourself into believing its morning every moment of the day.
The colors of the interior leather are called ‘Sunset’ and ‘Seashell’, further hinting at what an incurable romantic the owner must be. Even the wheels are sporting a bi-color finish, wearing the same colors as the rest of the car’s body.
Under the hood though, things remained the same as is usually the case for Rolls-Royce owners. After all, under the hood of every Wraith hides a monstrous 6.6-liter V12 good for 632 HP and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, enough to send you on your way to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds. Not that it would matter for a Rolls-Royce owner anyway.
