Here is a teaser of the BMW iX3 electric SUV

As announced exclusively by BMWBLOG a few weeks ago, the first fully electric BMW SUV – the iX3 – will debut this month at the Beijing Motor Show. The unveil is scheduled for next week when BMW will give us a web debut first, followed by the auto show appearance. Ahead of the launch, in the typical marketing approach put together recently by the Bavarians, the iX3 is being featured in a teaser.

The video already reveals the new kidney design of the BMW iX3, which clearly differentiate itself from the ordinary X3 and shares only the outer contour with the conventionally powered variants. It can also be clearly seen that the actual function of the air intake is eliminated, just like in the case of the purely electric i3, and instead it is merely a design element.

The direct connection of the two kidneys does not only distinguish the electric X3 from the usual models, it is also suitable to attract the curiosity of casual observers. With the BMW iX3, the Munich-based company will be delivering a close-to-production preview of the electric version of the BMW X3 planned for 2020. According to numerous official announcements, the mid-range SUV will complement the electric fleet of the BMW Group and combine the practical qualities of the X3 with the advantages of an electric car.

The usual topics of range and performance will be unveiled next week in Beijing, so we expect to see real numbers being unveiled, rather than the typical “visions” associated with concepts.
