Shannon's Danny Brennan was named to All-MEAC Tournament Team
It's been a busy few weeks for Shannon's Danny Brennan in the US and it's only getting busier.
After agonisingly missing out on conditional status for the PGA Tour Canada by a single stroke at one of five Q-School qualifiers in March, he is trying to increase his tally of collegiate wins before he graduates from Bethune-Cookman University in Florida next month
Winner of four titles since he transferred to Daytona Beach-based Bethune-Cookman after one semester at Toledo, he's topped the winner's rostrum three times this year, winning the Homewood Hilton Airport Invite last November before pulling off back-to-back wins in the Stetson Legacy Intercollegiate and the Gary Freeman Spring Invitational this year
Recognised as an Academic All American for the second time this year, Brennan (23) was fifth in the Mideastern Athletic Conference Championship at Crosswinds in Savannah, Georgia last week, carding round of 77, 71 and 72 to finish on four-over, 11 strokes behind runaway winner Alex Shead from Augusta.
His performance helped the Bethune-Cookman finish second in the event and he was named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Tournament Team.
His next event is the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship, where Bethune-Cookman University will be going for a hat-trick of wins in both the men's and women's events at Port St Lucie
