St Margaret's Eoin Curran claimed the top prize in the second outing of the Titleist sponsored Druids Glen Winter Alliance at Druids Heath.

Playing alongside former Challenge Tour winner Colm Moriarty, the five-handicapper had 38 points to win on a countback from the Glasson man, who won the best gross.

"I signed up for the winter alliance the night before and had the luck and pleasure of playing with one of the finest golfing talents Ireland has ever produced in @colmmoriartygolf," Curran said on his Instagram account.

"The other two lads weren't bad either. Not often I'm standing on the first tee with the worst handicap by 5 strokes or more!"

Clontarf Golf Club's PGA professional Eamonn Brady was second with 36 points with Druids Heath's Matthew Kiernan third with 35 points and Arlow's John Murphy the next best with 34.

Druids Glen's PGA professional Patrick Geraghty leads the overall Order Merit after the first two outings by four points from Curran, Delgany's Marc Nolan and week one winner Johnny Young, the former Rosslare professional.

The Alliance event will be played at Druids Glen and Druids Heath over the winter months with the overall winner the player with the best eight scores.
