ALPINA B7 in Pure Metal Silver with Tartufo Brown interior

On the showroom floor at BMW Abu Dhabi lies a unique ALPINA B7 model. The high-end limousine from Buchloe features the equally exclusive Pure Metal Silver color which once debuted on the F10 BMW M5. According to BMW, the paint material alone for this finish is 40 times more expensive than the coat in the base line’s finishes.

The chrome effect of the Pure Metal Silver finish is created through a water based paint system and special effect pigment consisting of hundreds of thousands of ultra-thin aluminum flakes. For example, if the flakes of the paint are facing different directions, the visual effect of the finish is compromised and the work has to be redone.

The cost of the paint alone is around $10,000 and it’s part of the BMW Individual Catalog.

Now this special paint color is found on the B7 and to make things even more exciting, the folks at ABU Dhabi Motors have paired the Pure Metal Silver with the beautiful Tartufo Brown interior.

Packing a 608 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque variant of BMW’s 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8, the ALPINA B7 is an absolute monster. It’s faster from 0-60 mph than the BMW 750i upon which it’s based, doing the sprint in 3.5 seconds. It also has a top speed of 205 mph, which is staggering for something so big, heavy and luxurious.
