The guys from BMW Abu Dhabi definitely know how to draw attention to themselves. They have been showing us some of the cars they deliver and none of them seem to be normal. If they aren’t decked with tuning parts, they at least wear a special paint on the outside. This BMW ALPINA B7 Bi-Turbo model makes no exception, as you’re about to see.
Usually, cars as sober and elegant as the BMW 7 Series don’t come dressed in anything else but a couple of shades of black, blue and grey and, maybe, if you really want to go crazy, white. Of course, the Individual catalogue will allow you to go wild and get any color you want, but it seems like the consensus out there is that the aforementioned colors fit the character of the car best.
Well, that didn’t stop the owner of this ALPINA B7 from ordering his car in a rather different shade. As we’ve seen lately, Java Green is quite a popular choice in Abu Dhabi, having seen a 6 Series Convertible wearing it as well as a BMW i8. And while on those cars it sort of worked, we’re not exactly sure about this ALPINA. It’s certainly flashy and will make you stand out anywhere you go, but does it fit the character of the B7?
No matter what the general consensus is, that doesn’t change the fact that we’re dealing with the ultimate performance car in its segment. With 608 PS, all-wheel drive and a sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) that takes 3.7 seconds, this thing will turn into a green rocket once on the road.
