Irish international Laura Webb shares the lead after the opening round of the Senior Ladies British Open at Caldy Golf Club in Liverpool.
The East Berkshire talent had five birdies and a bogey before a triple bogey seven at the long 18th forced her to settle for a two under 71 and a share of the lead with former Irish Senior Women's Open champion Minna Kaarnalahti from Finland.
The lead by one shot from 2013 champion Ann Lewis from Royal St David's and by two from , Trentham's Julie Brown, the defending champion.
Webb, who lost to Gertie McMullen in the final of the Irish Senior Ladies close championship earlier this year, was the first player in Irish golf history to complete a title hat-trickof the Irish S
he was a member of the Ireland squad who won the European senior ladies' amateur team championship in Poland a few weeks ago.
The Island's McMullen, runner-up in this event 12 months ago, has left herself a lot of work to do to get in contention this time round after carding a birdie free 79 .
Headfort's Pauline Walsh shot an 83 to share 65th in a day when fog delayed play until just after 8.30am before temperatures soared into 80s Fahrenheit.
