EPD Tour — Headfort's Rory McNamara had to settle for second place in the Gut Bissenmoor Classic near Hamburg.
Tied for the lead with eventual winner Mathieu Fenasse of France starting the day, the Co Meath man closed with a one under 70 but finished a shot behind on 11 under par as his rival birdied the 18th.
A winner already this year on the third tier circuit, McNamara picked up €3,000 and now lies eighth in the Order of Merit with €12,531 after 15 starts.
He's €5,000 adrift of Fenasse, who is up to fifth in the Order of Merit with the top five earning promotion to the Challenge Tour at the end of the season.
