This Alpine White BMW X6 M is a perfect example of size and power. The current-generation X6 M is powered by a 4.4L V8 BMW TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 567 ferocious horses, and taking the sporty SUV to 60 mph in 4 seconds. The powerplant is shared with its X5 M SAV counterpart and it’s the most powerful engine ever developed for an all-wheel drive BMW. The vehicle has a starting MSRP price of $102,200 and with options, it can easily go up another $10,000.
The X6 M is not one of the most popular BMWs when it comes to tuning, but once in a while, a BMW owner is courageous enough to push the envelope.
Modifications that are covered on this car range from simple cosmetics to parts that improve the performance of the vehicle, like a carbon fiber trunk lip, carbon fiber difuser and front lip.
Already being fast, some would question the need for modifying the X6M, but for others maximum power is the end goal. Affecting engine performance are an ESS Tuning Flash Tune, Akrapovic Evolution Titanium Exhaust System, and Evolution Racewerks Catless Downpipes. Combing the lightweight and reductions in restriction from the downpipes and exhaust system really free power from the X6M. With that power now being capable of being fully unleashed, the addition of the ESS Tune throws the F86 over the top. Now the X6 M delivers 600 horsepower DIN (Stock 555) and 790 Nm of torque (Stock 680NM).
On the suspension side, the stock springs were removed and replaced with AC Schnitzer Lowering Springs. On average the springs lower the F86 15-20mm both in the front and rear. These springs provide improved agility and safety. Lowering the center of gravity by lowering the vehicle brings a perceptible improvement in driving dynamics and cornering behaviors, especially for those who prefer a more spirited driving style. This center of gravity change gives higher safety reserves on load changes and sudden maneuvers, pushing for raised limit zone.
On the exterior we see a full iND cosmetic package. Ridding the car of the orange front reflectors and all of its chrome comes iND painted parts like kidney grilles (w/ M striping), side grilles, front reflectors, and even a rear trunk badge. Adding some aggression and style to the lines of the X6M is RKP’s carbon fiber rear diffuser, front lip, and bumper inserts.
Although the tips from the Akrapovic exhaust system have a matte finish, the gloss and matte carbon finishes of the RKP parts, Akrapovic tips, and 3D Design rear spoiler flow nicely together. Finishing off the modifications for this F86 are a set of Vorsteiner V-FE 404 wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires for that extra needed grip with all the new found power.
