Cahir Park’s David Ryan, Kilkenny’s Jimmy Bolger and Old Conna’s Neil O’Briain shared first place at The Crown Bar Pro-Am at Wexford.
The trio coped admirably in very windy conditions, carding rounds of one under par 70 to stay one shot ahead of Damien McGrane.
In-form O’Briain, winner of the recent PGA Southern Championship, carded three birdies and two bogeys in a very steady round.
It was a similar story for Bolger, who eased himself into the winner’s enclosure for the first time in 2016 with three birdies and two bogeys on his card.
Ryan, meanwhile, collected eight pars and a birdie as he went to the turn in one under par 35. He eagled the par five 10th but then bogeyed the 11th and double-bogeyed the 15th before finishing his round positively with a birdie at the last.
Neil O’Briain guided his amateur partners - Louis Flanagan, Larry Gainfort and Derek Casey – to victory in the team event with 89 points.
