Halloween comes early this year, thanks to this BMW i8 featuring a flashy matte orange color. BMW’s first high-end plug-in hybrid is slowly becoming one of the most often modded BMWs, despite being one of the rarest on the street. Over the last few months we’ve seen several interesting tuning projects, like this one, and this one and of course, this one.
This latest example was put together by Metro Wraps who used the Fire Orange color as the basis for their vinyl wrap. The shinny Fire Orange made its debut several years ago along with the iconic BMW M3 GTS, and has found since a home in many new BMWs. The i8 maintains the two-tone color paint scheme with the Fire Orange perfectly matching the black belt of the car.
Now if you’re not a fan of vinyl wraps – and you live in the UK – you’re in luck. BMW UK announced a few months ago a factory program for the BMW i8, similar to the BMW Individual Program offered for the rest of the lineup.
BMW’s new Individual color collection will be priced upwards of £5,495 in this UK where it will include Java Green, Speed Yellow, Solar Orange, Twilight Purple Pearl, Frozen Grey, Frozen Black, San Marino Blue and Grigio Telesto Pearl, among others. A variety of finishes are available including non-metallic, metallic or Xirallic, which uses a mixture of synthetic mica or aluminum flakes to produce scintillating effects. Quite a few options which will ensure that your beloved i8 will stand out anywhere it goes.
