SPIED: G80 BMW M3 Gets Caught Testing in Camouflage — Looks Great

We’re still quite far away from the official release of the upcoming G80 BMW M3, based off of the new G20 3 Series. While we know a little bit about it, we’ve yet to really see any concrete photos of it to know what it’s going to look like. Until now, that is. Some new spy photos have surfaced, showcasing the new G80 M3 in full camouflaged. (We don’t own the photos but see them here)

Despite wearing heavy camouflaged, we can make out the shape and some details of the upcoming BMW M3 quite well. And it looks great. It’s styling is obviously similar to that of the G20 3 Series but it’s much more aggressive looking. Much like the current F80 M3, this new G80 version gets seriously flared wheel arches that make its stance wide and athletic looking. Just those flared arches alone are enough to spend the extra money on the M3. It also gets BMW M’s signature quad exhaust pipes, which look fantastic beneath those new taillights.

Judging from the holes in its camouflage at the front, we can tell this new BMW M3 will have very large front air intakes. It also seems to have standard 3 Series mirrors, which might upset some enthusiasts. Fret not, though, as those standard mirrors are likely just for pre-production testing.

Current F80 BMW M3

Under the hood is said to be BMW M’s latest twin-turbocharged I6 engine, dubbed S58 and developed from the standard, but excellent, B58. It’s also said that it will make more than 450 hp and be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission on its standard model, along with all-wheel drive. Though, there will be a “Pure” version that will only come with rear-wheel drive and a manual gearbox. Yum.

Just judging from these spy photos, I personally think this G80 BMW M3 will be a real looker. Its flared arches and quad pipes already enhance a very good looking car. We literally can’t wait any longer.
