Mercedes-Benz Confirms A-Class Sedan For U.S. Market

Finally, Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the upcoming A-Class Sedan will eventually make it to the United States. The vehicle, which Mercedes slates to attract younger customers to the brand, features the updated version of the MFA2 architecture.  Previewed earlier this year, thanks to the Concept A Sedan, the vehicle hasn’t stopped garnering interest ever since. While other markets will see both the Sedan and Hatchback, the German car brand decided to offer only the Sedan on the U.S. market upon arrival.

This move is what will drive BMW to finally offer the BMW 2 Series Sedan to markets other than the Chinese. The success of the Audi A3 Limousine and the upcoming direct competition from the other German car maker, will clearly provide BMW with plenty of food for thought about their market strategies in the forthcoming years.

The decision to import the vehicle to the U.S. was made by Mercedes-Benz global sales chief Britta Seeger, while speaking to Automotive News about the car. He stated that the vehicle should prove attractive to U.S. car buyers. “We truly believe that now with the body style we have the right answer for the market.

“It’s a very attractive car for younger people, but not only for younger people — it can have a broad audience because it’s a nice entrance into the Mercedes-Benz family,” Seeger said.

When asked about whether or not the A-Class Sedan would be priced at under $30,000, Seeger simply said “We will see.” If they can meet the required pricing tier, Mercedes is surely in for a big impact at the market upon the car’s arrival.
