I can't believe how quickly Christmas is sneaking up on me. I am finished with all of my shopping and just need to wrap a few gifts. I bought books and toys for the all kids and made homemade soaps and face cream for my adult female friends and family. The last few days I have had a sick one at home, so while I was stuck inside looking out at the dreary weather I had fun Christmas things to do inside to keep me occupied.
I am so exited to share my newest free action with you called "Pinot Noir Luxe". This action is not only gorgeous but also very versatile. It adds a beautiful warm pink tint to images, or you can use it to make B&W or soft muted color edits. You also have the option for a soft contrast, matte-effect, or dramatic contrast adjustment. I have some tips on using it below.
I wanted to remind you that I have specials on my CoffeeShop Download Packs this month. You can grab hundreds of my favorite Photoshop/PSE actions, Lightroom Presets, photo storyboards, and professional digital designs in one simple download and help support this site (and my family)! I also include exclusive actions not found anywhere else, and a huge "Year of Holidays" digital design pack. Read all about my CoffeeShop download pack here!
CoffeeShop "Pinot Noir Luxe" Photoshop/PSE Action Tutorial:
Run the action. A "Levels" adjustment layer will pop up. It is preset to a matte contrast-effect, but feel free to adjust the sliders under the curve and under "Output Levels".
In this example I created very dramatic contrast by adjusting the sliders under the curve and moving the black "Output Levels" slider to "0".
In this example I created a very soft low-contrast effect. Play around with it and have fun!
This is the image after the action finishes running. Adjust each layer to taste. You can make final contrast adjustments on the "Contrast Adjustment" layer and play with the opacities and/or blending modes of the other layers to get additional beautiful enhancements.
Turn on the "B&W" layer to remove all of the original color in the image. This is such a pretty tinted B&W effect.
I also like to turn on the B&W layer and then adjust the opacity down until I see a hint of color showing through. I think this edit is gorgeous!
Here is another version where I turned on the B&W layer and selectively painted back in the little girl using a soft low-opacity brush. I also added one of my favorite free Shadowhouse snow textures. I think this edit makes it look like a vintage photo and it would look great on a Christmas card!
I hope you have fun playing with this new action. And please post your own before/afters using it on my Facebook page!!!
