Pádraig Harrington picked up $41,000 when he finished tied 16th with his 14-year old son Paddy in the PNC Father/Son Challenge in Florida.

Team Harrington added a six-under-par 66 to an opening 67 to finish on 11-under as Angel Cabrera and his son Angel Cabrera Jr. followed a 59 with a final round 60 to win by three shots on 25-under from Team Duval and Team Langer and earn $200,000

Cabrera said: "This is certainly my best week of the year. To play alongside all the legends like Nicklaus, Trevino, Faldo, Langer and so many others, as well as playing alongside my son, has been the greatest week of the year."

Reiterating his Father’s words, Angel Cabrera Jr., who has played on both the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica and the Mackenzie Tour, said: "There is no comparison to any tournament I’ve played in the past, it's been so special here."

Team Duval may have finished one place short of last years’ heroics but they were gracious in defeat

David Duval said, "In general, we’re happy. I think we played well, I think we played better than I thought we might. Once the gun went off, we performed and executed, as we wanted. We did what we had to do today and that was get out really fast.’

Langer, a three-time Father/Son Challenge champion, who alternates his partner between daughter, Christina and 17-year-old, Jason, may have a tough decision to make in 2018 after Jason’s birdie putt on 18 secured second place for Team Langer.

Commenting on the week, Jason said, ‘It’s a special environment, it is nothing like I experience in junior golf so to step inside the ropes and see what my dad does is fun to do.’

Asked about whom he might partner next year, Bernhard responded, ‘We will see what the future holds but he did himself proud and played great.’

Eighteen-time Major winner, Jack Nicklaus, who played with his grandson for the first time, Gary ‘GT’ Nicklaus, rolled back the years with a holing out for birdie on 18 to finish with a round of 64 (-8) to finish in 15th at 132 (-12).

Commenting on the final putt, Nicklaus said: "I wasn’t surprised it happened but I was pleasantly astonished."

He continued: "We didn’t shoot a really low score this week but by gosh, we had a lot of fun."
