The BMW E30 M3 has a huge cult following developed over the course of more than 30 years. The little bimmer earned its reputation thanks not only to its performance in the DTM championship over the years but also for being the first model to wear the M3 badge. The rest is history and today, the M3 badge means a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

But one could wonder how a car that initially had under 200 HP is so loved and revered? Many believe the secret lies in other areas of the engineering, such as the suspension and chassis setup. Its incredible handling still fascinates a lot of motorists and many drivers are using the chassis in extreme builds involving all sorts of monstrous engines.

Today, however, we’re here to check out a DTM E30 M3 going around the Nurburgring and hearing it roar louder than ever before. The footage, however, is unlike anything else we’ve gotten used to. To capture the induction noise of the S14 engine, cameras were installed inside the car to make for a glorious video. That setup might seem familiar to those who used to play Need for Speed and having option of seeing the road ahead, without anything else interfering.

Let’s have a look.
