The BMW E90 M3 is still a highly sought after car. It’s not only because it uses a V8 but also because it still looks brilliant, even after going out of production years ago. However, we’re not here to discuss looks but, more importantly, to discuss straight up performance. You see, the naturally aspirated 4-liter engine might sound good but in terms of performance, it’s quite lacking today. That will no longer be the case if G-Power is involved, as you’re about to see.
The German tuner has become specialized in forced induction engines over the years. Their Hurricane and Typhoon models are known around the world for their ferocity and character. Reaching close to 1,000 HP in some applications, the Club Sport kits the company has in store is nothing to mess around with. For the E90 M3 though, the numbers are quite different.
The car in the video below is fitted with a G-Power SK II Club Sport supercharger kit that takes the power output of the car up from its stock 420 HP to 630 HP. The torque figure is accordingly upgraded as well, from 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) to 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) of torque. What’s extremely impressive though is not the sheer power increase you get but also the fact that these new figures seem to be compatible with the stock 7-speed DCT gearbox.
That said, the performance of any E9x M3 fitted with this kit reaches near supercar levels. In the video below, one such E90 M3 is portrayed reaching a top speed of 340 km/h (213 mph) on a derestricted Autobahn. And while that may be just the speed indicated on the dash, even with the usual speedometer errors we need to take into account, the speed is still well over 300 km/h (186 mph), a figure hard to reach by any car.
