Making it from the Web.com Tour to the PGA Tour is a huge achievement, as Seamus Power showed this year.
But just making it from the mini tours to the Web.com Tour itself is no walk in the park and it took rounds of 64 and 71 for Waterville's Mark Murphy to win his Pre-Qualifier to get into Stage One of the Web.com Tour Q-School in Florida earlier this week.
The former Big Break reality star won by a stroke on nine under par from Tee Opperman at St Johns Golf and Country Club in St Augustine to head the 41 players who advance to Stage One of the Q-School venues.
West Waterford's Seamus Power came through the Web.Com Tour system this season, winning automatic promotion to the PGA Tour after he finished inside the Top 25 on the second tier circuit's money list during the regular season.
