Roganstown's Joshua McCabe, Baltinglass' Joseph Byrne, Castle's Gavin Herlihy and Bantry Bay's Mel opened with one-under 70s to lead the Munster Boys U16 Amateur Open Championship at Newcastle West.
They were one clear of Elm Park's Robert Galligan heading into Thursday's final round with Craddockstown's Charlie Sheridan and Portmarnock's Brandon St John tied for sixth on one-over after 72s.
