Long claims Douglas Scratch Cup

The 18th at Douglas Golf Club

Eoghan Long claimed the Douglas Senior Scratch Cup when he fired rounds of 72 and 70 to edge out international Peter O'Keeffe by a stroke on two-under par.

O'Keeffe and Eric Rumley opened with 70s to lead by two strokes from Long, Darren Kelleher and Greg O'Mahony.

While Gary O'Flaherty shot a 69 in the afternoon, he finished six behind on 148 after his opening 78 and it was Long who took the spoils, carding three birdies and a bogey in a fine 70 to edge out O'Keeffe and Rumley, who both shot 73s

O’Mahony was fourth on 145, beating Andrew McCormack on the countback.
