The BMW M4 GTS is the fastest car the Germans ever put around the Nurburgring. And while records are meant to be broken, we’re still enjoying every photo of the new, ultra-rare model wherever it shows up. Usually, the GTS is ordered in its Frozen Dark Grey Metallic, but today we’re taking a look at a rarer appearance, an Alpine White M4 that was just delivered in Abu Dhabi.
As expected from a car sent to the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, this particular M4 GTS is fitted with all the goodies one can order. Don’t expect the list to be too long though, as the hardcore iteration of the M4 was designed to be fast, not luxurious. Therefore, you can notice the optional M Carbon Compound wheels. Thanks to the lightweight composite, the wheels deliver a significant reduction in unsprung and rotating masses, and therefore have a positive effect on the car’s acceleration and deceleration, steering responses and vibration levels.
The M Carbon Compound wheels were designed for the race track initially, but they were approved for road use later on. The BMW M4 GTS became the world’s first series-produced vehicle that can be fitted with wheels boasting a CFRP/aluminum-composite construction once they were approved for sale. The wheels alone enable around seven kilos to be shaved off the weight of a standard BMW M4 GTS – which is absolutely stunning. To get a better idea why, you need to remember that the GTS comes with incredibly light forged aluminum wheels as standard.
Chip in the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires that come with them and the performance increase should be noticeable compared to the stock choice. However, even without these beauties, the M4 GTS is blazing fast machine thanks to its 500 HP water-injection cooled engine. The 0-62 mph sprint takes 3.8 seconds while the top speed is rated at 305 km/h (189 mph).
