The 2019 Geneva Motor Show is almost underway, with just a few more days to go before automakers debut their latest and greatest in Switzerland. One of the cars that’s set to debut in Geneva is the upcoming BMW 3 Series Touring, codenamed ‘G21’. It’s as car we’re looking forward to because it could be a very good looking wagon and one of the best sports wagons on the market. If you want a glimpse of it prior to its auto show stand debut, some new spy photos have surfaced, showing the new G21 wagon with minimal camouflage. (We don’t own the spy photos but they can be seen here)
In these photos, it’s pretty easy to see almost exactly what the upcoming 3 Series Touring will look like. From the B-pillar forward, it’s obvious that it’s basically the same as the 3 Series sedan. Where we want to look is from the B-pillar back.
The roofline tapers nicely toward the back of the Touring’s hatch and gives it a sporty look. Maybe it’s just me but this new Touring looks even sportier than the previous-gen F31. Personally, I also think it looks a bit better than the current G20 3 Series sedan. One of the reasons why, and it’s something that I think a lot of enthusiasts are going to be happy about, is the fact that its Hofmeister Kink is more traditional. On the sedan, BMW gave the 3 Series a new style of Hofmeister Kink, one that’s more arrow-like. This 3 Series Touring, though, seems like it could regain that old-school Kink style. Also, I think its taillights look a bit better than the 3 Series sedan’s, which look too much like the Lexus IS’. The little roof spoiler is a nice touch as well.
We’re excited to see the BMW 3 Series Touring, though disappointed that it won’t come to America. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long to see it in the flesh.
