VIDEO: The Smoking Tire drives EAS-Tuned BMW M4

We’ve done a lot of pieces of EAS-tuned BMWs. The tuning firm known as European Auto Source, out of Anaheim, California, has been doing some of the best work on BMWs, Porsches and Mercedes’ for years now. We’re fans of their work and especially their shop cars. In this latest episode of The Smoking Tire, we take a look at a shop EAS BMW M4.

Last week, Matt Farah posted the video of him driving a fan’s track-ready BMW M4. It had 525 wheel-hp, Moton adjustable suspension and some cool looks. The only problem with this M4 was the fact that it was too much to handle on public roads. So what about this 600 wheel-hp BMW M4, tuned by EAS?

Actually, it’s a bit more civilized. Despite making a lot more power and a lot more torque, the way the EAS tune creates the power is far more manageable than in the previous car. It’s still insanely fast, and probably too fast for public roads, but it’s definitely an easier car to drive. EAS also did quite a bit of other work to the M4 to make it so manageable.

Upgraded brakes, Moton suspension, sticky tires and some impressive aerodynamics make this EAS BMW M4 fun to drive without being too scary. It also sounds better than the other car, thanks to an Akrapovic titanium exhaust. It still doesn’t sound great, though, but that’s more to do with the fact that the S55 engine doesn’t ever sound all that good. The best sound I’ve ever heard from a BMW M4 was from the Competition Package and even that wasn’t brilliant.

EAS does some of the best tuning work in the country, so check out this M4 and watch how silly powerful it is. Just lower the volume when the exhaust gets loud.
