Gaming Meets Reality: BMW 8 Series Most Wanted Edition Rendered

If you’re both a BMW fan and an avid video game player, you probably enjoy one game more than any other, like the 2005 Need for Speed Most Wanted edition, the one that featured a famous BMW E46 M3 GTR on the cover. For me, personally, it was the best game in the entire NFS franchise and a lot of it had to do with the brilliant M3 GTR model you got to drive in the virtual world. Now that the 8 Series is out, one daring renderer decided to give it the Most Wanted treatment.

The end result is one good looking car that I could easily see transformed into a playable model in the virtual world. The 8 Series was transported in the Need For Speed universe and we can even notice a Lamborghini Murcielago police car in the background, quite similar to the original cover. The 8er also gained a wide body kit to make it wider, along with a new, bigger front lip, blacked out kidney grilles, new wheels and bigger, cross-drilled brake discs. Round the back we’re greeted by a generous wing while a roll cage was installed inside.

All in all, it does look like something taken straight out of a video game but at the same time, it proves that the shapes the BMW designers came up with truly offer the 8 Series a dual personality. On the one hand, it can be considered a luxurious GT car for crossing continents in absolute comfort, while on the other it can be turned into a proper track machine. The key lies in the way you decide to configure your car and what matters most to you.

At the same time, the upcoming BMW M8 will be quite interesting, to say the least. BMW went about developing it based on the racecar and not the other way around, as they usually do. Therefore, the new M8 which will be unveiled next year, will most likely be a great, high-performance model for all tastes.
