The new BMW Z4 is expected to hit the showrooms around the world in the Spring of 2019 but until then, you can already order one if you want to, just by visiting your local dealer or by going online. In the US, customers are limited to just two choices: the sDrive30i and the M40i model. And while pricing for the latter was leaked earlier this week, the former is bound to be considerably cheaper.
Rightfully so too, as the sDrive30i will come with two less cylinders, a lot less power and less standard kit. As it turns out, the sDrive30i model will kick off at $49,700 without the $995 destination and handling tax. Add it all up and you get a price tag of $50,695 for the 255 HP open top 2-seater. Standard kit includes 18″ V-spoke orbit grey wheels (style 770), Multifunction Sport steering wheel, variable steering, satin aluminum exterior trims, Dynamic Cruise Control, LED headlights, M Sport seats and the Live Cockpit Professional instrument cluster among other things.
Among the optionals you’ll find Vernasca leather and various packages meant to get you more kit for less money. The M Sport package might be worth a look over, as is the Track Handling package which includes M Sport brakes, M Sport differential and the Adaptive M suspension. You can also configure your top to have a different color or the most advanced driving assistant features BMW ever installed on a car with the Driving Assistance Package.
This last package includes Active Driving Assistant, Active Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Active Driving Assistant (additionally includes Daytime Pedestrian Protection), Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation, & Crosstraffic alert rear. For vehicles equipped with Navigation, Speed Limit Info is additionally included. If you’re looking for the M40i model though, you’ll have to add $14,000.
