In this day and age, when everyone’s looking into the future and trying to get to gripes with the fact that the automotive world is turning purely electric, it’s hard to stop and take a look back from time to time. Everyone’s so damn focused on autonomous driving and electric range that we tend to forget why we love cars in the first place. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about what the future holds as well but I’m also the kind of guy who gets chills down his spines when he hears an E92 M3 roar. And that’s why the car I’m showing you today seems important to me.
The days of naturally aspirated engines are gone. Everyone’s using turbocharged engines and that also goes for BMW, which did say goodbye to atmospheric mills in a nice way. If you remember, the last car BMW made with a naturally aspirated mill under the hood was a BMW E93 M3 Convertible and that means that the last NA engine to come out of a BMW plant was the iconic S65 V8. Yes, it may be a bit expensive to run and yes, it may lack torque by today’s standards when a 2-liter diesel has more twist than it, but it still remains a peach of an engine.
Derived from the S85 V10 which used Formula 1 technology, the S65 is what powers this BMW E92 M3 as well, up for grabs at the guys from Enthusiast Auto Group. Some might be avoiding the 4-liter V8 on the second hand market as if you don’t know how it was maintained, you might end up having to pay a lot to keep it going. However, that’s not going to be the case here as the car in question has only 488 miles on the clock. That’s basically brand new.
Furthermore, it’s a manual for those die-hard, old-school fans of M cars and it’s also fitted with the Competition Package which is the best combo you could get.
