Silverstone Metallic BMW F80 M3 Gets An Akrapovic Exhaust And BBS Wheels

The all-new BMW G80 M3 is expected for a world debut in Fall 2019. The current F80 M3 will end its production in May of this year, but its younger sibling, the BMW F82 M4, is still available for ordering.

While previous M3s have been powered by a variety of engines, ranging from the lightweight and high-revving motorsport-inspired 2.0 liter found in the E30 M3, all the way to a 4.0 liter V8 the E90/E92s, the next M3 seemingly remains faithful to the 3.0-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo found in the current model.

According to various sources, it is said that the power output of the next-gen M3 is said to equal that of the limited-edition M4 GTS, which delivers 493bhp at 6250rpm and 442lb-ft at 4000rpm. While this is subject to change, we can see a similar output, or even higher, up to 530 horsepower, being the choice for the upcoming all-new M3. However, the current (or old, however you put it) M3 stil has a lot to show. Hence, a build like this gorgeous Silverstone Metallic BMW F80 M3 from Baan Velgen is a perfect way to remind ourselves why we love this generation M3 so much and bid the car a proper farewell.

The vehicle doesn’t come with a lot of modifications. But they hit the nail right on the head! The selection of lightweight BBS FI-R wheels is a perfect starting point.

Sized 19×8.5 and 19×10.5 in the front and rear, respectively, these are some of the lightest wheels available on the market today, but they come with a hefty price tag. For these wheels, a customer will have to sheel out a whopping $2,000 per wheel. On the other hand, it does come with a rather strong and lightweight wheel design that finds its place perfectly on the M3.

Once the wheels were installed, a complete Akrapovic Titanium exhaust system was added. This Akrapovic Evolution titanium exhaust system for the BMW M3 consists of a single-central muffler with valves and a set of bigger link pipe tubes with a middle muffler, all designed to make the performance and workmanship of the Evolution as perfect as its looks. With no second set of cats— unlike the stock system – the whole system is designed to give the smoothest flow.

The system is crafted entirely from titanium giving the Evolution exhaust system a unique sound to complement the power gains. Akrapovic managed to produce a completely different sound from the stock system giving the BMW M3 and M4 a deep and sporty sound. There are no unwanted overtones or drone, and also no significant change to the sound with the valves in the open or closed positions.

Finally, an Akrapovic carbon fiber rear diffuser was added, perfectly complementing the quad carbon exhaust tips. Check out the complete photoshoot of this vehicle by Thomas Van Rooij right below.
