Special Edition Rolls-Royce Wraith Celebrates Emirates Anniversary

This week the United Arab Emirates celebrated its 46th anniversary and that prompted Rolls-Royce to build a special edition of their popular Wraith model. After all, Rolls-Royce is selling boatloads of models to the Middle Eastern country and it was only befitting that a special model was made for this occasion alone. As the pictures show, it has some subtle hints on it to mark the occasion and show us exactly why it was built.

The Wraith in itself is rather stock under the sheet metal. That means it comes with a V12 engine shared with the BMW M760Li. The 6.6-liter monster in the Rolls makes 623 HP though and 590 lb-ft of torque. Go for the Black Badge model and torque goes up to 642 lb-ft. Nevertheless, with or without the Black Badge treatment, the Wraith may seem like a land yacht that’s dreadfully slow but that’s far from the truth. For a car that weighs over 2 tons, it can move in a hurry.

The 0-62 mph sprint takes just 4.6 seconds and that’s not bad at all for a rear-wheel drive. Of course, that will take its toll on the car’s range but that shouldn’t be an issue for the prospective owner of this model which will most likely end up in the Arab Emirates. As for the special treatment the car received, we’ll point out the subtle coachline done in the colors of the country’s flag. The wheel hubs and various details inside the cabin are done in the same colors, showing character without going too far.

Then there’s the plaque that specifically says “Specially commissioned to Celebrate the Spirit of the Union” on the door sills. That message will welcome any patron getting in and out of this Infiniti Black beauty. How much does it cost? Since it’s a unique Rolls made for the Emirates specifically, we’re going to guess a contest of checkbooks is in the making, with the highest bidder getting the chance to take it home as no fixed price was announced.
