The BMW M2 has been declared the bargain of the M range for quite some time now. Even though it is the least powerful model in the range, the compact car managed to put a smile on the face of every reviewer out there, earning its praise in the process. That also attracted the attention of tuners worldwide, which have been rushing to bring a host of new products for it out on the market, to please the enthusiasts driving them.
Among them you’ll find VOS, a company that’s not exactly famous at the moment, but does make good products for the BMW range. Trying to make a name for themselves, the guys have unveiled a BMW M2 that has been extensively overhauled by their R&D team, now being closer to the specs of its bigger brother, the BMW M3. According to the company, their version of the M2 has 430 HP and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque coming out of the engine bay, numbers pretty much on par with what an S55 engine can put out, at least on paper.
There’s no mention of how these new figures were obtained, but we reckon the good old fashion recipe was applied, using a new ECU map and a new exhaust system in the process. Speaking of the exhaust, it is now made of stainless steel and changes the sound of the car, making it a bit meatier and deeper than what we’re used to on a stock M2. Other changes include carbon fiber aero kit made up of a front splitter, canards, side skirts and a rear diffuser.
On top of that, the car also gained OZ Leggera 20″ wheels and an H&R lowering suspension that drops the ride height of the car by 35 mm. Overall, the VOS Performance M2 is not shabby at all but the price tag might be a bit of an issue, as the German company is asking €86,900 for it which translates to roughly $97,000 at today’s exchange rates. And that kind of money can get you in a whole different league.
