New BMW 3 Series launches in Shanghai in Galvanic Gold

Along with the China-only BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase, BMW has also introduced in Shanghai their standard 3 Series models. One of the models displayed there was a 325i in Galvanic Gold, the vibrant yellow color made famous by the BMW X2.

According to BMW, the color is offered standard for Chinese customers, but it’s only available as an individual color in the US or Germany. What’s even more interesting is the fact that it shows quite different on the 3 Series than on the X2, something that even BMW guys have noticed.

The yellow shade is quite vibrant and gives the car a more exotic look.

The 325i model is also specific to China, so it’s powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine making 184 HP and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. There’s only one choice of transmission available, the brilliant 8-speed automatic unit. Customers also get access to the latest driving assistance technology, including the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant which is making its world premiere in China.

The car will be made by BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA) at its Tiexi plant in Shenyang, Liaoning Province (north-eastern China).
