The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is one of the best looking BMWs ever built and arguably, one of the best designs in the four-door coupe segment. It features sleek and sporty lines, even several years since its introduction. The BMW 640i we have here today is a perfect example of such class and appeal which has also been further refined, thanks to an addition of aftermarket parts.
The 640i is powered by a 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine delivering 315 horsepower. The engine combines a twin-scroll turbocharger with variable valve control (Double-VANOS and Valvetronic) and high-precision direct injection, accounting for smooth power delivery and a bland of performance. Fuel economy is not to shabby either, 22 MPG city and 32 MPG highway.
Consequently, the luxury four-door coupe will accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in as low as 5.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph (250km/h). While it’s built more for long drives and amazing comfort, it will still afford its owner with plenty of thrills – whether on or off the track. Starting at $79,800, it’s definitely a great option in that price range.
As we mentioned earlier, the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is, in our opinion, the nicest looking model in the current BMW lineup. This makes the 6 Series a perfect vehicle for aftermarket modifications. But, since BMW did a well enough job on its design, only subtle and elegant changes are needed to make the vehicle a real beauty.
This particular 6 Series Gran Coupe 640i was at Prestige Auto Couture, where it received a few aftermarket touches. Namely, a set of Vossen VPS-306 forged wheels now grace the exterior. Additionally the owner wanted to further lower his vehicle and improve its handling and appeal thanks to a set of ST Suspension lowering springs.
