This BMW F80 M3 features three rather compelling features: a gorgeous Atlantis Blue exterior finish, LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) updates and aftermarket modifications. Most notably, a set of lightweight HRE R101LW wheels were installed, giving this vehicle an aggressive exterior appeal. While the F80 M3 is an outgoing model, soon to be replaced by the upcoming 2020 BMW G80 M3, it still has the looks and the performance of an M.
The F80 M3 features the well-known S55 3.0 liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 420 horsepower and 486lb-ft (658Nm) of torque. The powerplant helps propel the vehicle from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.1 seconds. The M3 of this generation uses its 7-Speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) to linearly accelerate all the way to an electronically limited top speed of 155moph (250km/h). Thanks to its near-perfect weight distribution, impressive handling right of the bat and amazing performance figures, the M3 is still one of the hottest high-performance sedans on the market today.
For the owner of this BMW M3, leaving his beast stock was not an option. First, the M3 received a set of carbon fiber parts. Namely, these include a set of M Performance Parts front splitters, a rear diffuser, and a rear decklid spoiler. Next, an M Performance exhaust system was installed. In turn, this M3 not only relies on a bit more power but also, produces a sweet sounding rumble coming out of its quad exhaust pipes. But, as stated earlier, the most impactful touch for this build is the set of HRE R101LW wheels.
The HRE R101LW wheels start at a mere 16lbs, making them a perfect addition for weight conscious owners and track day aficionados. The R101 LW is specifically designed for each individual vehicle model creating the ultimate in lightweight optimization for street use. Every vehicle model has a different load rating and power output, so HRE Wheels utilized all of the data to redesign the R101 for each model application and to fine tune each detail of the wheel to remove weight and add stiffness where possible. The resulting wheel weighs less, improving the overall total unsprung mass for the respective vehicle.
For this Atlantis Blue BMW M3, the HRE R101LW wheels come sized 20×8.5 and 20×10.5 in the front and rear, respectively. The wheels feature a Brushed Dark Clear finish.
