Waterville's David Higgins
Waterville's David Higgins collected his third win in five starts at the Fred Daly Memorial Pro-Am sponsored by the Holiday Inn Belfast at Balmoral Golf Club.
The 45-year-old fired a five-under-par 64 in difficult wet and blustery conditions to finish two shots ahead of Glasson Hotel and Golf Club's Colm Moriarty and Tulfarris Golf Resort's Simon Thornton.
Higgins made a poor start to his round, dropping a shot at the par-four first, but he responded with birdies at the third, fifth and seventh to reach the turn in two under par 33.
He then reeled off five consecutive pars after the turn before putting in a strong finish, collecting birdies at the 15th, 17th and 18th to come home in three under 31.
The team prize was won by Holywood's Stephen Crooks with amateur partners Matt McCleary, Lee Brolly and Bryan Donnelly with 86 pts on a better back nine.
