2018 MINI Countryman John Cooper Works Model Rendered

Even though the 2017 MINI Countryman has just been unveiled, the world is already waiting for the John Cooper Works model. Understandably so, too, as the John Cooper Works edition would be the most powerful and entertaining model. Since the outgoing Countryman had such a version, chances are we’re going to see the JCW badge applied to the new one as well.

Our sources have been unexpectedly quiet about such a possibility so far but that doesn’t mean we won’t get to see the powerful SAV come out at all. One rendering even dares to try and offer a glimpse into what it would bring to the table, thanks to the guys from RM Car Design. The image posted below shows the Countryman featuring all the John Cooper Works tells, like the stripes on the hood, the power dome, and the aggressive front bumper, with wider air intakes to the sides.

Furthermore, the JCW wheels from the hardtop were borrowed as well, the black rims giving off a more threatening stance to the innocent bystander. The Brembo red brake calipers behind the wheels as well as the radiators hiding behind the front mesh grille infuse the idea of unlimited power in the back of your head and the black accents here and there confirm that there’s something terrible heading your way.

The Countryman in JCW guise has been spotted out testing already and when it will enter production it will probably share the same 2-liter 4-cylinder B48 engine used on every other body type in the MINI range right now. With 231 PS and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque, all-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox by its side, the hardcore Countryman will be able to do post some rather impressive figures on the track. Not as impressive as those reached by the model racing in the Dakkar Rally but still, more than enough for going to the mall.
